A towering figure in Jamaican gospel music, Shirley Willis rose to fame as the powerful, soul-stirring lead vocalist of The Grace Thrillers,one of the most celebrated gospel groups in the Caribbean. Her voice, filled with conviction and warmth, became the sound of spiritual awakening for generations, with hits like “Can’t Even Walk (Without You Holding My Hand),” “Jesus Is the Answer,” and “Oh What a Sunrise.”

A native of St. Ann, Jamaica, Shirley joined the Grace Thrillers in the 1970s, helping to catapult the group to international acclaim.
