Biography

Elva Ruddock was one of Jamaica’s most beloved comediennes and media personalities, remembered for her larger-than-life presence, infectious humour, and unmistakable ability to light up every room she entered. Over the years, she built a strong connection with Jamaican audiences through television, radio, live hosting, and comedy, becoming a familiar and cherished figure in the island’s entertainment space.

Ruddock was widely known for her work as co-host of the popular Bashco infomercial alongside Omar Azan, as well as for her role on FAME FM’s Full House Fridays. She also hosted numerous private and corporate events, bringing her signature warmth, wit, and vibrant personality to every stage she touched. Her career extended into print media as well, having served as a columnist with the Jamaica Observer and its former evening publication, Chat!.

Affectionately celebrated as the “Queen of Comedy” and remembered for her iconic introduction, “E to the L to the V to the A,” Elva Ruddock left a lasting mark on Jamaica’s entertainment, media, and theatre industries.
