Carol Theresa East, widely known as Sister Carol, is a pioneering reggae and dancehall artist whose powerful voice and conscious lyrics have inspired generations. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Sister Carol rose to international fame with her unique blend of cultural pride, African heritage, and advocacy for women’s empowerment. Over her illustrious career spanning more than 40 years, she has released over 20 albums, including the Grammy-nominated Lyrically Potent, and founded her own label, Black Cinderella Records.

Beyond music, Sister Carol has been a cultural ambassador and actress, appearing in films by acclaimed director Jonathan Demme. Her dedication to uplifting roots culture, Rastafarian values, and social justice has earned her immense respect worldwide.
